UKRPEC took part in the Online Presentation of the working draft of the revised Draft Law on Packaging and Packaging Waste (reflecting the provisions of Regulation (EU) 2025/40)
On February 19, the Ukrainian Packaging and Ecological Coalition took part in a public presentation of the main provisions of the Draft Law on Packaging and Packaging Waste, developed by the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Environmental Policy and Nature Management.
On behalf of the Ukrainian Packaging and Ecological Coalition, the event was attended by Volodymyr Slabyi, Chairman of the UKRPEC Executive Committee, Andriy Pavlenko, Manager of the Pilot Project UKRPEC on separate collection of packaging waste EcoHromada, and Oleh Boichun, UKRPEC Technical Manager.
During the presentation of the Draft Law’s provisions, Volodymyr Slabyi, Chairman of the UKRPEC Executive Committee, called for continued work on the Draft Law together with the business community and invited interested parties to participate in the Packaging Waste & Sustainability Forum 2026, to be held on March 24-26 in Brussels. This event is one of the key platforms in the EU where packaging management policy is shaped and, according to the Chairman of the UKRPEC Executive Committee, is crucial for the discussion surrounding the future text of the Ukrainian Draft Law on Packaging and Packaging Waste. For its part, UKRPEC will participate in the Forum and report on its main results.
UKRPEC will carefully study the text of the Draft Law once it is published by the Committee on Environmental Policy and Nature Management and will submit its comments and proposals, advocating for the European model of packaging waste management based on the principle of Extended Producer Responsibility.
